Dr. Thomas Hahn
Dr. Thomas Hahn is an Associate Professor in Environmental Social Science at Stockholm University, specializing in ecological economics. His research addresses key areas such as ecosystem services, climate action, sustainability transformation, and adaptive governance of social-ecological systems. Hahn leads the FAIRTRANS project, which has been awarded a 40 MSEK Mistra grant, focusing on the transition to a fossil-free future. He also directs a Formas project aimed at increasing legitimacy and stakeholder involvement in ecological compensation and biodiversity offsets. As a lead author for the IPBES Values Assessment and CLA for the IPBES European and Central Asian Regional Assessment, Hahn plays a crucial role in advancing environmental research. His extensive teaching experience spans three decades at multiple universities, and he has served on the boards of Sveaskog AB and the Swedish Nuclear Waste Fund. For the S’EnErgy-2025 conference, Dr. Hahn will be a keynote speaker, bringing valuable expertise in resilience science, governance, and sustainable development practices.
